Wind down for the night. End the day on purpose.

A small evening ritual. A noticeably better life.

Download on the App Store Your first quiet evening can be tonight.
Five quiet minutes a night Speak or type Miss a night, nothing to catch up on
You know this hour

Nobody plans to be awake at 12:40am.

12:40am

The scroll that won’t end

You’re not even enjoying it. You’re just not ready to end the day, so the feed ends it for you, an hour past tired.

Lights off

The list that follows you to bed

The email you didn’t send. The dentist. The thing you said at lunch. Your body is horizontal; your head is still at work.

7:00am

The morning that starts behind

The evening ran later than you wanted. You would like tonight to have a clearer stopping point.

When you are ready to stop, a small closing ritual can give you a next step. My Evening offers a little structure for that part of the night.

How it works

Five quiet minutes. Go to bed finished, not just tired.

Give the last part of the evening a shape: remember what mattered, put tomorrow into words, and follow a slow breathing rhythm. My Evening guides the steps you choose, and then the evening is done. Every evening is kept, with the people in it.

  1. 01 Say thank you 2 min
  2. 02 Put tomorrow down 3 min
  3. 03 Breathe slow 90 sec
Step one · gratitude

Keep one good moment from today.

Someone called. Someone made you laugh, or stayed a little longer. Name the person and the small thing you want to remember. A difficult day can hold a moment worth keeping, in your own words.

You just talk: lights off, eyes closed, already under the covers. Your words appear on their own. Type if you'd rather; it's one tap away.

Step two · tomorrow

Tomorrow stops following you to bed.

Every loose thread, said out loud or typed, leaves your head and lands somewhere you trust. Then you crown the one that matters most, even if it's "call mom," not the quarterly report. What you take to the pillow is a plan, not a pile.

In the morning, the same list is waiting on your home screen as Today's focus. The night didn't have to hold it, and neither did you.

Bedtime writing, studied

In a randomized sleep-lab study of 57 healthy adults aged 18 to 30, those who wrote a to-do list for five minutes fell asleep about 9 minutes sooner on average than those who wrote about completed activities. Scullin et al., Journal of Experimental Psychology: General, 2018. The study tested writing on paper, not My Evening or dictation. Individual results vary. My Evening is a wellness tool, not a medical device.

Step three · breath

A quiet rhythm to finish with.

Follow four cycles of 4-7-8 breathing, with spoken cues and haptic taps to mark each phase. Inhale, pause, exhale. A simple way to give these last moments your attention.

4 Breathe in
7 Hold
8 Out

A study of healthy adults aged 19 to 25 found signs of increased parasympathetic activity after 18 cycles of 4-7-8 breathing in participants without sleep deprivation. This was not a test of the app's four-cycle session or of sleep improvement.
Vierra, Boonla and Prasertsri, Physiological Reports, 2022. Individual results vary. My Evening is a wellness tool, not a medical device.

What stays · years later

You speak. The app notices who.

You never have to tag anyone. You just say what you'd say to a friend: "thank you to my wife for breakfast," "for my dad calling on Sunday." The names quietly find their place — and when two people could be meant, or someone is new, the app asks you once. Months pass, and a handful of them keep coming back. The people who actually hold you up become impossible to miss.

Anatomy of one quiet year

Tap any name and you find your own words, by week, by month, by year. Not a chart. Not a score. The actual moments you noticed her, preserved in the night you said them.

Emily

Remembered as “wife”

47
moments
  • This week

    • My wife for the slow Sunday morning. No plans, just us.
    • My wife for waiting up when my flight got in late.
  • Last month

    • My wife. She just sat with me when I cried. Didn’t fix anything.
    • My beautiful wife for an amazing breakfast. I almost cried.

    • My wife for carrying me through the worst week of work. She was a wall.

You’ve never tagged her once. The app simply listened, and remembered.

Years from now, you'll know exactly who was there during the hardest seasons. In your own words, from the night you said them.

Voice-first · designed for 11pm

You don't have to be sharp.

Listening…

By 11pm you've thought enough, decided enough, typed enough. My Evening meets you tired. Tap once, talk, tap again. The app does the noticing while you do the resting. Eyes can stay closed, body can already be horizontal.

Research on the practices

Quiet practices, real research.

These studies ask different questions about writing, gratitude and breathing. None tested the combined My Evening ritual. No app guarantees sleep.

Writing before bed.

In a randomized sleep-lab study of 57 healthy adults aged 18 to 30, the group who wrote a to-do list for five minutes fell asleep about 9 minutes sooner on average than the group who wrote about completed activities. The study used paper, not this app or dictation.

Scullin et al., Journal of Experimental Psychology: General, 2018.

Gratitude and sleep.

In a survey of 401 adults, people with a more grateful disposition reported better sleep. This was an association, not a test of gratitude journaling or evidence that this app improves sleep.

Wood et al., Journal of Psychosomatic Research, 2009.

A guided breathing pattern.

In one study of 43 healthy adults aged 19 to 25, a session of 18 cycles of 4-7-8 breathing was followed by signs of increased parasympathetic activity in participants without sleep deprivation. The study did not test this app or sleep improvement.

Questions

Honest answers.

Is My Evening on Android?

My Evening is available for iPhone and iPad with iOS or iPadOS 18 or later. There is no Android version.

Does it actually record my voice?

Only while you’re speaking. Your audio goes to our servers and a speech-to-text provider to become words, and the transcript is saved to your journal. How that is handled is in our Privacy Policy.

What happens if I miss a night?

Nothing. The next time you open the app, it says “Welcome back.” You’re not behind. There’s nothing to catch up on.

What if I try it and stop?

The yearly plan opens with a free week, and canceling is two taps in the App Store; cancel before the trial ends and you pay nothing. (The monthly plan has no trial; it just bills monthly.) If you stop later, everything you’ve logged stays readable without a subscription.

How long does it really take?

It depends on which rituals you choose and how much you want to say. You can keep your entries brief and choose the parts that fit tonight.

Do you sell my data?

No. We do not sell your data, and there are no ads. What we collect, and why, is in our Privacy Policy.

Try it tonight.

Give the evening a clear stopping point. A short ritual, and then the day is done.
